Ritmo is an interval-walking app for Android. This policy explains what data Ritmo handles, why, and the choices you have. Ritmo is built to work on your device by default; the data below is only stored in the cloud if you sign in and enable Cloud Sync.
Who we are
Ritmo is operated by the developer of the Ritmo app. For any privacy question, contact jithinliveshere@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Account information — if you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and a user identifier used to store your data securely.
- Activity and fitness data — your walk sessions, including duration, step count, and estimated distance.
- Profile data — your height, used only to estimate walking distance from steps.
- App preferences — settings such as reminders and session length.
Ritmo does not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising. Ritmo contains no ads and no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
- To run the app — time your intervals, count steps, and estimate distance.
- To save your session history so you can review progress.
- To sync your data across your devices, if you sign in and enable Cloud Sync.
Where your data is stored
On-device data is stored locally on your phone. If you enable Cloud Sync, your data is stored using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) on Google's infrastructure. All data is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers.
Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. We use Google Firebase as a service provider to store and sync your data on our behalf. Purchases of the one-time Cloud Sync option are processed by Google Play under Google's own terms; we never see your payment details.
Permissions
- Physical activity — to read your phone's step counter during a session.
- Notifications — to show the active-session notification and optional reminders.
You can decline these permissions; the related features simply won't be available.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your cloud data at any time from Settings → Delete cloud data in the app, or by request. Full instructions are on our Account & data deletion page. Active cloud data is removed immediately; residual copies in backups are purged within 30 days.
Children
Ritmo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
